Sales Manager


Maintain and further develop the market position of Rubber Carbon Blacks & Specialty Carbon Blacks in South Africa under the directive of Business Line Rubber.


Continuation of Core tasks:

Participating to

- budgeting process

- sales meeting/workshop

- technical meeting to be updated of product development


- Support the business in running and further developing Rubber and Speciality Carbon Black business in South Africa.

- Keep close contact to and visit regularly all customers  in the responsible region in cooperation with relevant Key

   Account Manager / Sales Director / Applied Technology Manager / Marketing Manager / BL Head.

- Respond to all commercial/technical inquiries in close cooperation with relevant Key Account Manager / Sales Director
   / Applied Technology Manager / Marketing Manager / BL Head.

- Focus on the achievement of budget figures, monitor sales and report on deviations.

- Assist the business in the management of its distributors.

- Investigate customer complaints, assist in credit control and sample follow up.

- Observe and report competitor activities.

- Reporting regularly to BL Rubber + Specialty Carbon Black.

- Visits reports in SFDC.
- Analysis of market on customer level (products/grades, competitors/suppliers, demands/volumes) in SFDC.
- YTD figure on customer level - analysis on deviation.

- monthly forecast update.
- Projection update according to projection schedule.

- Participate in budget process, business line meetings, and workshops.

- Stay up-to-date on product, market and technology developments (e.g. technical training, seminars).


Position Requirements:

- Sales and Marketing /or Commercial degree

- >5 years experience in Sales in a multi-national manufacturing business

- >5 years Sales experience at a senior managerial level

- Relevant foreign exposure 

- Willing to travel locally and abroad
