Process Controls Engineer

The Process Controls Engineer will provide technical expertise/direction in all areas of process automation and control for manufacturing processes, systems and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight and guidance for automation and process control activities and external resources supporting project activities, including active participation in design premise, and leadership in development of control narratives, logic, programming and reviews
• Troubleshoot process control and automation issues at manufacturing sites and work with the sites to implement control scheme improvements. 
• Optimize the tuning of control loops as needed to achieve required responses.
• Manage programming activities related to manufacturing sites
• Maintain instrumentation and hardware related to environmental compliance, including continuous emissions monitoring systems
• Drive/create or adopt written procedures, control philosophies, and standards for process control system design and construction practice
• Drive/create or adopt a consistent controls and P&ID review practice
• Manage the Process Controls MOC process to ensure proper documentation, implementation, and follow-up which includes updating the control logic diagrams and P&IDs.
• Work with other departments and external parties to create and implement processes to increase the plant’s efficiency.

Requirements:

• BS Engineering degree with 8+ years of experience in chemical industry
• Ability to perform design, analysis and related technical tasks commensurate to and as demonstrated by award of an engineering degree in the respective discipline
• Ability to work with DeltaV; Schneider/Foxboro and PLC coding/programming is a plus
• Ability to work with instrumentation and automation controls.
• Ability to work with the Microsoft Suite of software and basic knowledge of AutoCad.
• Ability to travel within the US
