Project Manager
The Project Manager executes and controls assigned projects with the ultimate goal of achieving project completion safely, on time, and within budget, and at acceptable levels of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. A bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering is required for this position.
Essential Duties:
Work closely with the Technical Investment Team to ensure completion of the following key activities:
- Feasibility study
- Scope definition
- Cost estimation with associated scopes
- Operability studies
- Value engineering
- FEED (Front End Engineering Design) Studies
- Safety management and safety planning
- Project execution strategy overview.
In addition, the selected candidate will also perform the following key tasks and activities:
- Provide technical point of contact to the business area for assigned projects.
- Plan the execution of assigned projects and prepare scope of supply documentation after project authorization is secured.
- Define Critical Success Factors of projects to execute projects as assigned to or exceed project schedule, budget, and quality requirements. This includes, as required by the specific project, performing and/or the coordination of resources to complete the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, start-up and commissioning tasks.
- Support Major Capital Project Management globally in the development of project work process and establishment of project database
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is required. A focus on chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- At least five years of experience managing large or multiple projects in value of up to 25-100M USD; some or all of this experience may have been acquired in positions such as project engineer, construction manager, or project manager.
- Experience working with third party engineering firms is essential.
- Experience in the chemical and/or oil and gas industries is preferred.
- The ability to develop and sell ideas to improve the cost, schedule, and execution of projects is essential for success in this role.
- Experience preparing specifications, issuing requisitions, evaluating bids, and dealing effectively with vendors is critical.
- Familiarity with standard industrial construction techniques, codes, and OSHA standards is expected.
- Proficiency in SAP and one or more common project management software tools is required.
- Able to travel up to 50% of working time, primarily domestically and occasionally internationally.
